About ETMGDC

Our club was formed in November of 2004 by a few local MG enthusiasts who enjoy driving their MGs on the beautiful scenic back roads of East Tennessee. In 2006 we were selected as the local club to co-host MG2006, a convening of all MGs worldwide, organized by the North American Council of MG Registers, and held in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We are honored to have as Lifetime Members, Don Hayter who designed the MGB, and Gerry Coker who designed the Austin-Healey 100 and 3000 body styles.

Membership in the club is open to any MG enthusiast without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or disabilty. Actually owning an MG is not a requirement.

Annual dues are $20 and includes the spouse as a member. For a new member joining us, the first year dues are prorated as follows: $15 after March 31; $10 after June 30; $5 after September 30.

Meetings

Club meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month. Check the Events Calendar for the time and place of each meeting. Meetings usually include discussions of upcoming and past events, and helpful discussions about maintaining, repairing, and restoring MGs.

Events

Throughout the year, ETMGDC participates in many British car events sponsored either by us or by other clubs or organizations. These include club drives, picnics, car shows, the annual "Springtime in the Smokies" car show, and an occasional drive along the famous "Tail of the Dragon", a mountain road with 318 curves in 11 miles.

In April 2008, ETMGDC hosted the annual British Car "April Fools Bash", a reunion of all British car clubs in the East Tennessee Region.
