Picnic at Jim and Susanne's lakeside home

Sixteen club members enjoyed picnicking at the home of Jim and Susanne Neidert on Douglas Lake on the warm summer day of June 27, 2009.

Members admired Jim and Susanne's lakeside property and very nice home with a delightful wrap-around porch and a splendid view of the lake.

Participants included Al & Liz Bauerly, Mark & Karyn Bourne, Carl Floyd & daughter Piper, Herren & Otti Floyd, Teresa Greene, Chuck & JoAnn Hamilton, Paul Kern, Jon & Karen Whitt, and our hosts Jim & Susanne Neidert and Susanne's sister-in-law Janet Stephenson. Members who couldn't come missed a very enjoyable gathering.

The shade of trees and a nice breeze made it very pleasant on "Point of View", the peninsular (almost island) where their property juts out into the lake.

Jim cooked some delicious hamburgers, and there were hotdogs and lots of other food followed by some great desserts.

A few of us swam and rode jet skis, but most just enjoyed the conversation and fellowship. Lounge chairs invited a pleasant afternoon nap in the shade and breeze.

Jim showed us his large air conditioned garage equipped with lots of tools, work benches, and a lift, which is home to his collection of MGAs one of which is in good driving condition.
